TULSA, OK -- Anyone who has ever caught a big fish has a photograph
of that catch. Many of them would love to have that moment
immortalized on T-shirts, coffee cups, hats or buttons. A Tulsa man
is helping do that through his website.
There are good ideas. And, there are really good ideas. How many
times have you said I wish I'd thought of that?
"A lot of people have a dream or vision, but a lot of people don't
take the first steps in making that dream come to life," said
BiteMyWorm.com's Ron Thompson.
Ron Thompson has loved to fish since he was kid. And, the first
thing anyone who likes to fish does after the big catch is have a
picture taken. So, Ron had a really good idea.
"Why not make a cartoon out of that great catch?" said Ron
Thompson.
That's what he's doing. He created a website, BiteMyWorm.com, and
for about a year he's been encouraging folks to send in fishing
photos. About 60 of them have been "tooned" up, so far.
The cartoons can be reproduced on a number of items all available
through the website. Not every photo submitted becomes a cartoon,
though.
They look for photos that have some unique aspect to them.
Something that Ron and his art director believe is
"cartoonable."
Some of the designs are popular worldwide. One man who has a
fishing shop in Italy loved a design so much, Thompson says, he had
it tattooed on his leg.
